N communed with some of his distant kin in the petting arena.
Then had WAY too much fun with the hatching chicks.
Z became fascinated by a lady using a circular loom to knit alpaca fleece.
Then they found an enclosure with more "mountain" goats in their "natural" habitat.
Z became bored much sooner than N.
There were John Deere tractors and other equipment to climb on. Z and his friend wanted to be buckled in, while N was more interested in buttons and switches.
After a lunch break, we watched a puppet show. Z actually made it about 20 min in before needing to move!
Then we went into the tent with the chickens, ducks, and rabbits. N was in heaven.
Z found a pole to climb.
They regrouped on a handy dandy bench in the middle of the tent.
Once it was determined that this rabbit would tolerate petting, Z was much more engaged.
He also greatly enjoyed the honeybees.
Last but not least, they participated in a new competition: sychronized standing!

I think I give them a 6.5!
Wonderful pictures, A. You have such photogenic children!
ReplyDeleteFantastic that the fair organizers put the chicks down at that level!
And Z should get extra points for quick thinking and evening up the sync!
Well, he IS the more experienced one. This is his first time in the sychronized event, but he's been performing solo for a couple years longer than N.
