N's favorite game is sitting on Z's bed while Z jumps around him, thereby causing N to bounce. N will climb onto Z's bed and cry till Z comes in to bounce him. It's really quite entertaining. N could play that game all day long, but Z has a limited attention span for it.
On this particular day, Z was sitting on his bed and said, "Little brother want to bounce? Put little brother on da bed?" N was sauntering down the hall, so I poked my head out and asked him if he was interested in that particular activity. His response was "dah" followed by him continuing down the hall and around the corner. I followed after him to see what he was up to, and he crawled to the front door and started playing with the letter magnets. So I went back to Z's room and told him, "N doesn't want to bounce right now, but he would like you to come play with magnets with him. Do you want to play with magnets instead?" Z pondered that for a second, then declared "Play with mangents wif little brother." Then suited actions to words, and they happily played with magnets together for a good 10-15 minutes.
